The NEAT Working Group 2018:
Mainstreaming Disability in East Asia Economic community:
Breaking Barriers and Creating Inclusive Society
through Mutual Collaboration

On the 16th August, 2018, Ratchasuda College, Mahidol University held the NEAT Working Group 2018 under the theme "Mainstreaming Disability in East Asia Economic community: Breaking Barriers and Creating Inclusive Society through Mutual Collaboration" at Mercure Bangkok Makkasan Hotel. This meeting is the brainstorming between the NEAT Asean plus Three representatives and Representatives from Thailand. Mr. Suriya Chindawongse, the Director-General, Department of ASEAN Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs delivered the opening address to the NEAT participants and on behalf of Mahidol University, Assoc. Prof. Nopraenue Sajjarax Dhirathiti, Acting Vice President for International Relations and Corporate Communication welcomed the NEAT participants. In the morning session, Dr. Seree Nontasoot, ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights delivered the keynote speech to the meeting. In this occasion, Dr. Wachara Riewpaiboon, Dean of Ratchasuda College, Mahidol University delivered the souvenirs for the three special guests. After the keynote speech session was the brainstorming session for the representatives from NEAT ASEAN plus Three, reported by Assoc. Prof. Tavee Cheausuwantavee, Ph.D., the moderator of the meeting under the theme "Past and Recent mainstream disability in East Asia: Positive aspects and challenges through brief literature review". In the next order was the presentation from each representative NEAT Countries as following; Cambodia, China, Japan, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Singapore and Thailand was reported by Dr. Issavara Sirirungruang, the lecturer of the College. This NEAT Working Group meeting 2018 was supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
